Do I dare
Sing the universe's lullaby
And see this nightly sky
Naked and set to rest?
Shall the universe, disturbed,
Don it's black garments
In the silence of undisclosed calm?
Silently reaching the stillness
Of unbroken nothingness?
Peace, at last?
And may with the world
Dead, still, and cold,
Life end it's strife
And enter endless respite,
As the unborn infant's lost laugh.
